Phone movement

0% holds the rendered phone still. 100% applies the complete calibrated physical orientation. Intermediate values proportionally blend from the resting angle toward that orientation. This is angular movement, not position tracking.

Calibrate and re-zero

Calibrate makes your current phone pose neutral. Re-zero corrects heading while preserving pitch and roll. Do this with the real connected phone and watch the result.

Smoothing

Motion smoothing softens the response between samples; increasing it can introduce visible lag. It is separate from the amount of movement.

Choose the frame

Portrait 9:16 uses 1080 × 1920, landscape 16:9 uses 1920 × 1080, and square 1:1 uses 1080 × 1080. Select the layout before placing your phone. Changing layout centers it in the new frame; layout switching is locked while recording. Resizing the app changes the preview size, not the output dimensions.

Place yourself in the preview

Choose Add camera and allow camera access. Select your camera, choose Fill to cover the frame or Fit to show the whole picture, and use Mirror if it matches your final scene. Then drag the phone into position and use X/Y for precise adjustments. The camera preview requests video only and remains muted. Remove camera stops that preview.

This camera is a local placement reference. Add the same camera separately in OBS and match its fit, crop and mirroring. Camera video is not included in the transparent phone source or FoneStream MP4 recording. You can also choose Sources → Video file… for a local reference clip, then play, pause or seek it; the clip is also excluded from output.

Frame and appearance

The framing controls adjust scale, horizontal and vertical position, and stage rotation. Appearance controls shadow and reflection. The phone composition background remains transparent for OBS output.

Output settings

Browser Source settings are included in the copied URL. Copy a fresh URL after changing the composition and match the OBS source width and height to the dimensions shown in OBS output. Native OBS sources have their own property controls. Calibration commands travel to the receiver.
