What do I need to get started?
A desktop receiver, the iPhone or Android companion, and both devices on the same local network. Desktop build targets are macOS, Windows and Linux. See the compatibility guide for requirements and the current testing status.
Does it work with OBS?
Yes. Send the phone composition to OBS as a transparent Browser Source, or use the native plugin. You keep control of your other sources, camera and overlays in OBS. See the setup guide.
Can I use it without going live?
Yes. Record the phone composition to an MP4 from the desktop app. It’s useful for app demonstrations, tutorials and videos you want to edit later.
What can’t it capture?
Protected video and secure app screens can block capture. Audio depends on the phone and the source app; this iPhone extension does not forward audio. FoneStream follows orientation, not room-scale position, and does not provide universal remote control.
Is FoneStream available now?
FoneStream is in development preview. Public installers and app-store releases are still being prepared, and physical-device validation is in progress. You can explore the demo here or follow the development installation routes.
