Requires Android 10 or later. A public Play Store listing is not available. The companion currently installs from a development APK built from source.

Build

Use JDK 17 and Android SDK API 36, or Android Studio. From the repository:

cd apps/android
./gradlew testDebugUnitTest assembleDebug

Install app/build/outputs/apk/debug/app-debug.apk on your test device. Development APKs are not production store packages.

Connect

Scan the desktop QR, verify the computer, choose whether to capture microphone audio and press Start. Approve Android’s screen-capture prompt. Active capture has a visible foreground notification with a Stop action.

Limits

Secure app surfaces cannot normally be captured. App audio depends on policy; the initial UI exposes microphone capture only. The normal capture path does not require root, USB debugging or ADB.
